She earned an Associate of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from East Los Angeles College. Cynthia (Cindy) Domínguez was born in Monterey Park, California. In her free time, she enjoys traveling and hopes to facilitate study abroad trips for students one day. At LATTC, she will serve as the Puente English instructor and Co-Coordinator. She employs a social justice curriculum in her classroom and hopes to help many students transfer to four-year institutions. Her research interests reside at the intersection of race, class, and gender. Originally wanting to become a secondary school teacher, Cindy spent several years working with ELL students in high schools. She earned an undergraduate degree in English Education, with an emphasis in Literature, and completed her master s degree in English at California State University, Long Beach. Since moving to Los Angeles in 2001, he has been part of the adjunct faculty at LATTC, and proudly joins LATTC as a full-time faculty member.Ģ Cindy Cruz Instructor, English Cynthia (Cindy) Domínguez Instructor, Math New Full-Time Faculty Continued Cindy Cruz is a native of Los Angeles. George happily takes that experience into the classroom. George is also a successful writer, having written all forms and most genres from marketing materials, to selfhelp books, to television episodes. Fortuitously, George embraced his career, beginning in adult literacy, and later at Morgan State, as a full time lecturer. Completing his undergraduate and graduate studies from Morgan State University an HBCU exceptionally equipped him to be an innovative and dedicated English professor. He has a varied academic history, having attended public, private, and art schools. A Maryland native, George Blake is first a learner, then a teacher. In sum, Jaime feels privileged to be a part of the LATTC community and to have a job that allows him to give back to the community via his two passions teaching and construction. He is passionate about green building and sustainable construction methods in California. He was hired as an adjunct Carpentry instructor in the Construction, Maintenance, & Utilities Pathway at LATTC and became a full-time LATTC faculty member in Fall He has worked in the construction industry as a trainee, a journeyman, and as a general contractor, off and on, for over eighteen years. Jaime began his career as a Project MATCH intern in 2012 at the Los Angeles Community College District, and has taught as an adjunct instructor for five years. As a Hispanic woman who went through a unique educational journey, it is her goal and commitment now as an educator to share that journey and to facilitate the learning of a diverse population of students who have rich life experiences and an overall desire to succeed. She then pursued her doctorate at University of California, Berkeley in Microbiology and went to the University of California, San Diego where she investigated the potential use of beneficial bacteria to control human pathogens. She transferred to California State University, Northridge to earn her Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology with a minor in Chemistry.
